2010 CONCERT PROGRAM AND OTHER

Adrian Walter
Masterclass: the WA Academy of Performing Arts is
presenting a masterclass with Adrian Walter on Monday 15th February,
9.30-11.30 in the Music Auditorium. Four talented WAAPA students
will perform, namely Melissa Branson, Claire Bonner, Duncan
Gardiner, and Craig Lake. Adrian Walter has been director of the
world-famous Darwin International Guitar Festival since its
inception and is now the Dean of the ANU School of Music, a leading
centre of guitar studies under the direction of Tim Kain. Adrian
comes to Western Australia to perform in Albany as part of the
Playmakers Festival (13th-14th Feb), which is part of PIAF (Perth
International Arts Festival). He is a leading exponent of
nineteenth-century performance practice and plays a Guadagnini copy
made by Fremantle luthier Simon Rovis-Hermann. All are welcome,
entry is free. |
